Liger 2022 is an upcoming Indian sports action film. Though, this film is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. Besides films shot simultaneously in different languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. However, the film is produced by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects. Moreover, Vijay Deverakonda stars as the titular MMA fighter boxer alongside Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles. American boxer Mike Tyson plays an extended cameo, thus making his acting debut in Indian cinema.

Liger 2022 Movie Review

The actor Vijay Deverakonda said, “I see it as me getting to live a dream. A personal dream in my career.” He continued, “I love telling stories and I love telling them to huge audiences and huge auditoriums. What bigger auditorium than India, so I just see it as a personal dream and ambition coming to life.”

Again, Vijay Deverakonda said.“Actresses have worked in the south. Anil Kapoor sir debuted down south. Directors have been making films up north. Sridevi ma’am has been a south actor. Now it’s loud, but the industry has always been working with each other. It’s just that now we are doing cinema that the entire country watches and it’s about time that this happens,”

Therefore, he added, “I am looking forward to the day when it is no longer called north and south but Indian cinema and Indian actors. That is what we should look towards.”

Therefore, Deverakonda is playing a kickboxer with a stutter, underwent a dramatic physical transformation for his role and went to Thailand for martial arts training. However, After Janhvi Kapoor refused the offer due to date issues, Ananya Panday was cast opposite Deverakonda. Moreover, Composer Tanishk Bagchi is also signed for the film.  Whatever, boxer Mike Tyson was signed for an extended cameo, thus making his acting debut in Indian cinema.

Moreover, Liger 2022 movie is slated to release in the theatre on 25 August, 2022 worldwide. Liger marks the film debut of Deverakonda in Hindi cinema and Panday in Telugu cinema.

Movie Trailer and Teaser

Earlier, Vijay’s Liger trailer was unveiled  in Hyderabad and Mumbai amid much fanfare. However, Ranveer Singh also attended the cast and crew of the upcoming movie Liger 2022 to launch the trailer. This movie also starring the young man as a professional MMA fighter, the film stars Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday in lead roles with Mike Tyson’s special appearance.

Therefore, the trailer has it all from action to romance to drama with a heart-thumping musical score and impeccable dialogue delivery by Vijay as it seems all set to be the trailer of the year. The first glimpse of the film was released on 31 December 2021. The official trailer of the film was released on 21 July 2022 in Telugu, Hindi, and dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

At the trailer launch of the Hindi version of Liger actor Vijay Deverakonda said that while he was thrilled to shoot with the American former professional boxer Mike Tyson, his mother was equally nervous and worried about him shooting with a heavyweight like Tyson.

Besides producer Charmme Kaur added  “She kept telling him, ‘It’s Mike Tyson! Be careful.’ She calls him Chinnu. She called me up millions of times and told me to take care of her Chinnu. Once they started shooting, I sent her videos of how they were chilling together and laughing as if they are childhood friends.”
