Therefore, Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film 2022 directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and adapted by Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Paramount Pictures. It is an official remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor, and Naga Chaitanya in his Hindi film debut and Mona Singh.

 This film has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. However, production was halted in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Aamir Khan bought the rights to the film in early 2018 with the help of Los Angeles-based producer and director Radhika Chaudhari and announced the film officially on 14 March 2019. Above all, this film initially scheduled for a Christmas 2020 release but it delayed. The film is scheduled for release on 11 August 2022.

Laal Singh Chaddha Movie Review 2022

After releasing the trailer, many took to social media like Twitter, Reddit, Instagram to share their disappointment. Most importantly, a few people mentioned how bad Aamir’s Punjabi sounded. After then, how he was giving the same like popped-eyes expression that he gave in a bunch of his recent films. For example, such as PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots. Above all, Others were just unhappy about how Aamir Khan chose to make his comeback to acting after five years with a remake that seems like a ‘spoof’ of the original.

Khan plays the titular Laal Singh Chaddha, a Sikh man modeled after Tom Hanks’ iconic character, Forrest Gump. The Laal Singh Chaddha trailer also reveals extended flashbacks sequences in which a young Laal is told to live life on his own terms by his mother, played by Mona Singh. This is just one of the several similarities that the Hindi film has with the original, which was based on a novel by Winston Groom.

Earlier, Aamir Khan announced that he had purchased the remake rights of the 1994 American drama Forrest Gump from Paramount Pictures In August 2018. Khan officially announced the project On 14 March 2019, coinciding with his 54th birthday.  This movie named Laal Singh Chaddha 2022. He co-producing the film with his ex-wife Kiran Rao. Atul Kulkarni, who also worked with Khan in Rang De Basanti in 2006. And he wrote the Hindi adaptation of the original.
In an interview, Kulkarni stated “I wrote the script ten years ago, but Aamir took a couple of years because he did not believe that I must have written a good script. So he did not want to hurt me. After a few years, he heard the script and within 30 seconds he said I am going to do the film.” Kulkarni also told that “It took another 7-8 years to get the remake rights from the makers of the original (Paramount), as the movie is solely based on the original.

The film narrates the important events of Indian history from the perspective of  Aamir Khan as Laal Singh Chadha. He was an autistic man with a wide emotional spectrum. This is because we are unable to complete the film in trhe time. The film will now be releasing on 11th Aug 2022 in theatres worldwide. The adaptation of Forrest Gump underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades,
with Atul Kulkarni spending the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights.  Aamir said that he was trying to get the remake rights for seven or eight years and was excited that the rights were available and all formalities were completed so the film could be made.
